They say there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...but I think it is really a pot of coffee.
At work we are spoiled as we have a company provided K-cup coffee and tea dispenser, with probably at least 20 types of coffees, teas and hot chocolate. Our company isn't always the most generous, however they do know the way to a nerds heart is through a cup of coffee, or two, or three.
Well today they are renovating the kitchen, so the coffee does not floweth today! It's such a small thing but yet such a big thing as well. When its 40 below and you are doing the morning journey to work on the slow icy streets, it is the reward of the heavenly coffee that keeps you focussed. It is knowing that when you get there, you can power up the PC, sit down, have a nice cup o joe and talk to your pod mates before kicking into gear.
So, instead we went to the local coffee shop, it's pretty good coffee and will get me through the morning hump. So now I am off to do what it is I do. I hope you all have a nice morning beverage, whatever that is, and enjoy your day.

We have an awesome coffee machine you power it up. It grinds the beans, presses them, brews the coffee and spits it out one cup of freshly brewed coffee at at time. We don't have to buy those expensive pods, but we have less choices. It makes really good coffee, but yesterday the hopper was empty and we had no beans. That never happens we buy extra so we never run out, but it did, and we had to make due with pre-ground (our machine has a slot for that if you want to do a flavored coffee or decaf and you already have regular beans in the hopper) but it's not the same. And since it makes such a nice cup I now find, like you, that coffee shop coffee can be very sub par.
ReplyDeletemmm...i love the smell of fresh ground beans, that would taste so yummy. The cold weather just makes a good cup of coffee so much better. Hopefully tomorrow we will be back in business with our coffee machines back up!
ReplyDelete2 weeks ago I pulled into the parking lot at work and noticed I hadn't brought my travel mug. I am pretty sure this is the first time on a year and a half of teaching an 8:30 am class that I forgot it. I was already short on time so couldn't grab a coffe from the cafeteria or Tim's along the way either. Needless to say, talking for an hour and a half without a coffee royally sucked.
