I have enjoyed this blog challenge and have really gotten to know people more through their writings. I feel it has been a great success because of this. Hell I feel now that Brad and Kathy whom I have never met are good friends too.
It is still summer but I can already kind of feel it winding down. September can be one of my favorite times of the year. My family has land about an hour north of Edmonton and they grow grain crops on the land. I used to love going out to the field on a beautiful September evening while the combine was going and jumping over the swaths. My dad would stop and visit with us while the combine was filling the truck with the just harvested grain. September in Alberta can be beautiful. One quarter of land they own usually produces really good barley which is malting quality, which means it will go in beer! (this means much better grain price for a farmer)
Well, I will cut it short tonight and think i will go chillax and watch some TV in bed. Its getting dark noticeably earlier now which makes my sleepy. So good night all, talk to you tomorrow!

September, i'm not sure the yellow leaves is beautiful. Just reminds me of the end of summer. I WANT THE HEAT BACK!
ReplyDeleteLol, thats true Shaun, I like when the are colored but not when a week later they are all on the ground. I hope we get another burst of warm as well, but I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteI always feel a bit of dislocation this time of year. I think I blogged about it a billion years ago, but toward the end of August, I start thinking about the annual first drive down to Lethbridge for the fall semester.
ReplyDeleteI love the fall, because it usually isn't wet like spring, and about this time, I'm starting to get really tired out by the hot weather.
I'm a big fan of Spring and Fall...and Fall wins because the stench of animal wastes doesn't fill the air.
ReplyDeleteIt is funny because both spring and fall are about new beginnings. Spring is for the trees and plants, and by then you are just damn sick of winter. It is such a dirty time of year though in Edmonton.
ReplyDeleteFall, although end of summer, is beginning of new school year, often people kicking into gear starting new projects at work. I also find the air in Fall is often so nice and we have such beautiful still days, where the air is fresh, but you need a light jacket. I really like that.
