When I was a teenager I used to hang out with many of my friends that lived in Beverly. We would often go to a movie, likely a cheezy horror as they were all the rage. After the movie we would go to Boston Pizza and hang out for hours and hours. The best part was if just a few of you started there, inevitably others would drive by, see your car there and come in as well. Pretty soon we had a whole gang and some great laughs and conversation.
We also used to go to "Gooneys" on 97th street when I was in High School for french fries, gravy and ketchup!!! mmmm...that is so good. Cliff has another name for this, but I will suffice to say this is a yummy dish. Kind of like a western version of poutine!
I have heard some of the other bloggers talk about the long nights they spent at various establishments as well. So where did your coffee crowd hang out?
I voted for Humpty's as I think the time we spent at coffee there is still higher than at Denny's but the numbers have got to be getting close now. Many many fun hours at both places though.
ReplyDeleteDifferent phases of my life had me at different places. As a teenager it was Boston Pizza (in Spruce Grove it was the only place open past 8:00). As a young adult it was Humpty's, then Denny's once it opened downtown. Now..sadly...I don't have a life and my late nights of coffee are few and far between.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could put both Denny's and Humpty's cause we spent almost the same amount of time there. Ah I remember those times so well.
ReplyDeleteWas fun to be able to not have any responsibility other then go to school, go to Denny's and then go to your job. Life got in the way!
I never really had one with friends. Usually we went to their apartments or something like that. But, when I worked at Microplay in Wpg we used to hang out there after we closed up. There was a 12 computer LAN setup and we'd play all kinds of games to the wee hours of the morning.
ReplyDeleteHumpty's, by far. Dennys more recently, but Humptys for years and years, and even during University.
ReplyDeleteDenny's would also be a legit choice, but I'll throw the vote to the Big Egg. Mainly because I'm terrified of him.
ReplyDeleteHumpty's and Denny's. But Humpty's was the only one where you could just drop in and be likely to find a friend without trying. Really that's a once in a lifetime thing I believe
ReplyDeleteI'll admit that we spent more time at Humpty's over the years, but I think I had more fun at Denny's.
ReplyDeletePlus they had silk pie. Right James?
